Get involved

This work happens because people show up for it.

If you want to be one of them, here's how.

Volunteer as a mentor

Our volunteer mentors are the core of every camp. You don't need to be a wilderness expert or a qualified therapist. You need to be honest, good with young people, and willing to be present for a week in the woods.

  • Pre-camp preparation

Attending pre-camp training and safeguarding briefings. You'll know what to expect and what's expected of you before you arrive.

  • Show up as yourself

Not performing, not fixing, not lecturing. Working alongside experienced programme leaders and being available to young people across the full five days of camp.

  • What you'll receive

Structured preparation, clear expectations, experienced supervision, and the kind of week that's hard to explain to people who weren't there.

Work with us

We're always interested in people who combine practical skill with genuine presence — outdoor education, first aid, facilitation, youth work.

Induction into our approach

Everyone who works with Wildnature is inducted into our approach, policies, and values before working with young people. Equality and inclusion are built into how we operate.

Demanding and meaningful

If you're looking for work that's demanding and genuinely meaningful, we'd like to hear from you. Get in touch via the contact page.

Partner with us

We work with schools, community organisations, landowners, and other charities that care about young people and the natural world.

Schools and youth organisations

If your organisation works with boys aged 13–17, or supports outdoor or experiential learning, let's talk.

Landowners

If you hold land that could serve this work, we'd like to hear from you. We approach every partnership as a real collaboration, not a referral arrangement.

Other charities

We are open to co-delivery arrangements with organisations whose values and approach align with ours.

Training

Everyone who works or volunteers with Wildnature receives thorough preparation.

  • Safeguarding, health and safety, risk management

Every team member receives training in safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management, plus a thorough induction into our approach. This is mandatory, not optional.

  • Ongoing learning

We run regular team learning sessions, reflective practice, and annual reviews. We think the best guides are always still learning — and we build that expectation into the culture from the start.

Ready to show up?

We're looking for people who are grounded, dependable, and genuinely interested in young people.
